Annotation for “Mother‘s Obesity May lead to Infertility in the Next Generation”

This is a study that is done by The Endocrine Society on how Obesity may affect the later children of the mother. They claim that the Ghrelin hormone are noticeably low in obese women. With this knowledge, they commenced a study with mice, that showed if mice had low Ghrelin levels “were less fertile due to a defect in implantation”. Reproductive functions in humans and animals can be regulated by hormones that consist of energy balance and metabolism, such as Ghrelin. It may not be clearly cut of the role of Ghrelin in reproductive tract development, they do pay close attention to the differences of Ghrelin “deficiency” of fertility of women. Even though their study involved mice. The Yale University School of Medicine believed their results foreshadow that the uterus development in the children of obese mothers can be programmed by low levels of Ghrelin. Which could be that those children could grow up and be less fertile as the adults. The reason their results suggest that statement could be supported by this evidence: mice with a “deficiency” in Ghrelin, destroyed fertility which is the cause of the resulting smaller litters, compared to the normal mice. Also with that deficiency, it was seen to show differences in the uterine gene, which would be followed by a “impaired embryo implantation and consequently low fertility”.

Annotation for “The 7 Rules for Eating Healthy Fast Food”

This article is about giving tips on how to eat better on the go with fast food restaurants. Many Americans go to a fast food place and look at the menu for healthier food options, but according to the research firm Technomic, of 47% of the Americans that claim they want to eat healthier only 23% actually would. Technomic conducted a survey to see why the numbers were so different and the end result was that people believed that all of fast food is bad, there is no healthy options. Which for the most part is true, for example McDonald’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal beats out a Snickers bar in the sugar column. So to help people with this dilemma on how to choose what to eat at a fast food restaurant, additional research was conducted by Clint Carter. First off is the meat, almost everything comes with meat so picking wisely is the key. His advice is to keep with the Turkey, Ham, and Roast Beef., but steer away from the Bacon and Sausage. By choosing Ham over Sausage you can cut your calories by 500. Another heart breaker is that knowing that most restaurants load their buns with butter. If you choose to have it dry, it will shave up to 100 calories down for that meal. Other advice includes “choosing colorful condiments”, such as BBQ sauce, Ketchup, and Mustard. Others such as Mayo and “Secret Sauces” can be a deal breaker. For example, Burger King’s Mayo can induce up to 160 calories. To get a lead step in the condiment game, choose Salsa, which is loaded with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and lycopene which is a antioxidant that can fight cancer. Its also obvious that if there is an option to get grilled or fried, it’s a common way to shred calories with grilled. One big no, no is that people think they need to eat the whole meal but by cutting down your portions, you are cutting your calories down too. Cutting a 1,500 calorie meal into two, cuts the calories into two. Lastly, they claim that some coffees’ can be the reason for “love handles”. It’s a must to keep away from whipped cream. These are ways to get around unhealthy options in fast food, and they are things that can be done on the fly, surprisingly.

I am only familiar with Robeson County medical care. I believe that Robeson County medical is strong in some aspects but with my experiences as the only support I have for my opinion, i believe that Robeson County may be lacking great service. In 2008 i had to get my apendix removed. My experience at urgent care was unsatifactory, because i was experiencing severe stomach cramps and i still had to wait for an hour and a half when they posted a sign that says to tell some one if your experiencing certian symptoms and i was. It seemed like even if i had one of those symptoms it didn’t matter cause i still had to wait. Well after waiting i went to the hospital and when i had to get I.V’s they failed to successfully keep it stable, i was stuck seven different times before they got it in right and that’s when they called the nurse that is specialized in that. But that is only my experience and it may be better than that now.
